Signify announced that it will provide Philips aquaculture photoperiod LED lighting products for Kingfish, the world's first sustainable yellowtail aquaculture company.
This product can promote the growth of fish, optimize the feed conversion rate, and increase the yield of yellowtail by 30% than expected by providing energy-saving and efficient lighting for large water tanks. The company uses a proprietary recirculating aquaculture system (RAS, Recirculating Aquaculture Systems), using seawater and 100% renewable energy to create a suitable growth environment for yellowtail.
For fish, light can be used not only to determine the location of surrounding fish and food, but also the only way for them to judge the time and season. It is a huge challenge to provide suitable light for the fish in the super large and super deep water tank and the constantly changing water environment.
Philips LED lighting fixtures use specially designed optical equipment to evenly distribute light in the entire water tank to avoid unlit areas. The electronic components inside the luminaire can simulate sunrise and sunset light effects. The growth lamp provides the best light formula for the water tank. Adequate light can improve visibility and help fish growing in the environment to confirm the food and each other's location. So as to reduce the pressure of the fish school, improve the feed conversion rate, so that the fish can grow in the best condition.
